Episode 14: Why Habits Matter, Choosing The Right Habits To Build & Giving Up Habits That Don’t Serve You

Sagar & Charchil start the episode talking about how reading Harry Potter compares to watching the movies. Then they move to why our habits are powerful precursors of success. They then discuss how to identify which habits to work on, how to prime your environment to help you do get into any habit, using streaks and monetary rewards as well as using alarms for remembering things you need to do.

For breaking negative or bad habits, they talk about why relying on self control isn’t a good strategy and how saying them out loud, preparing responses to break your usual patterns and removing the choices around you are simple techniques to get rid of them.

Finally, they introduce this week’s exercise on making a list of things you are ready to let go of.
